| EcologyMost of the species under the Plumularioidea family are found in calm coastal or intertidal waters. Sometimes found attached to a substratum, they attach to other organisms including hydroids as well. They are usually found in reef flats and coral zones. (Bonnett, 2004)
The specimen studied was found on the reef crest at Heron Island, and kept under observation in the aquarium at the University of Queensland.
